The firm is also understanding of the financial constraints that clients may encounter during a divorce, annulment, or legal separation.  One common problem is when one spouse is the breadwinner and controls the majority of the community assets while the other spouse has no access to the community’s financial resources.  Another common problem is where the community is short in liquidity necessary to finance the litigation such as most of the assets are tied down in real estate or retirement plans.  In both situations, a party’s representation could be compromised by their inability to afford competent representation.  Our firm evaluate the client financial situation and, on a case by case basis, will take on the representation despite the above problem either by requesting an attorneys fee award against the other side or by taking the case on a FLARPL (Family Law Attorneys Real Property Lien) if there is community real property with sufficient equity.
