Firm History and Philosophy

The firm was established by Kenneth U. Reyes on November 1999 after he left a career at the international accounting firm of Arthur Andersen, LLP as a federal tax consultant.  Initially, the firm handled family law, immigration, and general civil litigation cases. However, Mr. Reyes wanted to establish a boutique firm that focused on quality legal representation and the only way to do that is to focus on one area.  He decided to focus on the area of family law because it complements his CPA and finance background.  Other than custody, visitation, domestic violence and harassment, most of the other issues in a family law case are financial in nature.

Each client of the firm is given personalized attention and each case handled in a customized manner. Each case that the firm handles is assigned to only one attorney who is thoroughly familiar with the facts and procedures of the case.  Many law firms pass their cases from one staff to the other making clients feel like nobody knows what is going on in their case.  The firm’s legal fee structure reflects the high quality and personalized legal representation for which the firm delivers. Handling a legal case is unlike making widgets, it requires a thorough familiarity of legal procedures as well as a deep understanding of the substantive legal concepts in the area of family.

The firm invests heavily in research materials. The firm has in its disposal all the tools of the trade including electronic access to all the research materials necessary to effectively and competently practice family such as west law on line research, all the practice guides including Rutters, primary federal and state cases, secondary sources and treatises.

In addition to devoting time to its client’s cases, the firm encourages its attorneys to be active in the various bar associations and volunteer organizations to give back to the community.
